Our trip to Buckingham Palace

As part of our school topic “The Commonwealth”, Reception has been learning about United Kingdom and London.

On the 27th of March, we went on a trip to Buckingham Palace. We got off at Trafalgar Square and walked down the Mall to the palace.

On our walk we saw the guards standing outside the palace. We were quite excited when we saw the Queen’s horses and guards leaving the palace for changing of the guards.

We had a slow walk back through St James’ park and saw beautiful swans and ducks.

It was such an amazing day because we also got to see Big Ben, The London Eye and the River Thames.

The children have worked on various activities such as, writing letters to the Queen, building Buckingham Palace with bricks and Lego and role playing with costumes.
