MESSAGE FROM HEAD TEACHER, MR R. HUNTER
The purpose of this website is to keep parents, pupils and visitors well informed about the school’s policies, activities and events as well as providing essential information regarding teaching and learning.
At St John’s we know that all parents have great hopes and aspirations for their children and our aim is to ensure that each pupil receives the best possible education in a happy, secure and intellectually stimulating environment.
Our vision and values are rooted in Christian values- faith, hope, care, responsibility and respect- we promote acceptance for all, love, forgiveness and excellent behaviour for learning. We want our children to be the very best they can be!
At St John’s we are understanding, respectful and, with a positive attitude towards life, we aspire to achieve here and beyond. In order for this to be achieved, it is essential that every member of the school community acknowledges and reflects the values promoted by the school.
We are extremely proud of the polite, thoughtful and enthusiastic children that come to St John’s and we always aim to provide very clear expectations of good behaviour and respect for all that underpin effective learning. We believe that the environment and education that St John’s provides for its pupils will help them to ensure that they achieve their best possible at school and beyond.
We warmly welcome visitors to our wonderful school and hope that you find your visit to our website useful and informative.

Comments from Ofsted
‘Pupils feel very safe in school because they are so very well looked after. They talk very knowledgeably about the need for regular exercise and a healthy diet, and, in the main, they practise what they preach.’

To form strong partnerships with the school by taking an active interest in, and supporting children’s learning
To be well informed and supportive
To share in children’s achievements and successes
To challenge and support school leaders through effective school governance
These are the things we want from our School:
To be a centre of excellence
To have high expectations and aspirations for all our children
To provide a safe and secure environment in which children thrive and feel valued
To have a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
To be innovative, progressive, forward thinking and outward looking
To be fully inclusive
To have a strong community ethos

At St John’s, we provide a welcoming, friendly, safe and supportive environment in which Christian family values are central to the ethos of the school and its teaching and learning. The school believes in effective partnerships with parents, staff, governors and the wider community. We especially value the partnership we have built up with our parents / carers and the community over the years.
Our children learn within a safe, caring and disciplined environment. We believe that every child should enjoy their education and be happy, healthy and safe at school. We will continue to value our children for their individuality, culture and heritage. We are committed to providing a place of excellence and high standards.
We are fully committed to ensure that our children are given opportunities to achieve their full potential in their academic, creative, emotional, social, physical, moral and spiritual development.
Staff focus upon providing the highest possible standards of education and upon enthusing pupils with a love of learning. Through creative, broad and balanced experiences we inspire confidence and celebrate the uniqueness and successes of all our pupils in the school.
