MESSAGE FROM HEAD THE TEACHER
Welcome to St John’s Church of England Primary School.
The purpose of our website is to inform parents, pupils and visitors about the school’s policies, activities, events and of the standards that we endeavour to achieve in our teaching and learning.
All of the staff and governors are united in our commitment to the continuous improvement of the quality of teaching and learning through collaborative professional development. We recognise every child as an individual, and we endeavour to support the academic and personal development of all children who attend St John’s. We encourage children to have a sense of purpose and responsibility, and to take pride in their achievements and in the achievements of others.
Our vision is rooted in Christian values: faith, hope, care, responsibility and respect. We promote tolerance and acceptance for all, love, forgiveness and excellent behaviour for learning.
At St John’s we welcome parents and carers to take as wide an interest and involvement as possible, because we know that children make faster progress when we work in partnership. Seeing ourselves as part of a wider community we work in partnership with local schools such as Crampton Primary School and we endeavour to develop existing and new opportunities to work with people and institutions across London and internationally.
We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and perhaps return occasionally to see our record of St John’s as we continue to develop and evolve. Thank you for taking an interest in our school.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Matthew Velada-Billson
Headteacher

The vision clearly places the pupils at the heart of all developments and is bringing about consistency in approaches. It is based on allowing all to flourish as God intends and draws on the school’s well-established associated values.

The Christian nature of St John’s Walworth Church of England Primary School is central to our philosophy and informs every aspect of the life of the school.
We are committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment where our pupils can receive an excellent Christian education.
Our core Christian values of care, hope, faith, respect and responsibility focus us, as an inclusive community, to be the best version of ourselves. Our values permeate all areas of school life through learning, religious education, prayer, worship and action.
We value the unique strengths and gifts of the children entrusted to us and strive to provide an excellent education so that, through our teaching, the children may realise their full potential.
In partnership with our families, governors and parish, and inspired by our faith, we support the children of St John’s. We encourage the children to shine, to have pride in their achievements, to show concern for others and contribute to society as responsible citizens.
